Faculty Achievements & Awards

• On April 26,2009, Professor Gay was also awarded the Excellence in Teaching and Dedication to the University Honors Program Award.
• Professor William Gay has been selected for the "Book Signing Session" at the Grand Opening of the Student Union on August 26th, 2009 from 11:00-3:15. The selected book is Democracy and the Quest for Justice:  Russian and American Perspectives. This book examines the changes and challenges to democracy particularly in contemporary Russia from various philosophical perspectives, as well as issues of social justice arising from the relationship between democracy and  economic globalization.
• Professor William Gay, in alliance with Professor James Tabor of Religious Studies, was awarded a Chancellor's Diversity Grant for their topic, "Strategies for avoiding Interreligious Conflict in the Classroom".Be looking for dates on the Philosophy Calendar to discover when this vibrant discussion of religious diverstiy will take place!
• Professor Marvin Croy was offically recognized as Full-Professor on August 18th at the University Convocation held in McKnight Hall. The Department of Philosophy congratulates him on his success!
